Sunday, February 24, 2013 - The Petition has been one of my favorite SQN whites since release. Last tasted a little over a year ago, it's in an even better place today. Upon opening the nose showed a Sauternes-like (richly fruited) character accented by piney-spice. Day one: the nose built complexity as the wine opened over a couple hours, and the texture was pure silk. Day two: A little more honey/honeycomb on the nose and the flavors and palate showing more back end bitter stone fruit/white Rhone-esque. Still delicious tonight, but better on day one.
