Thursday, August 22, 2019 - Tasted at Penfolds Magill Estate, Adelaide. 40 Vintages of Grange: Again beautifully bright in the glass with just a touch of heat on the nose; although this isn't evident on the palate. The tannins are a bit more raw on the '76 as it doesn't have the same balance as the '71 but it's still great. A great anecdote recounted at the tasting was of the outrage at this wine being priced at over $20 for the first time when it was released back in 1981. Those were the days!
