94 Points

Friday, January 26, 2024 - I seem to like this much more than the previous reviewers. I was blown away by the balance as this transitions into a mature wine with interesting secondary elements. Shows a slightly above medium straw yellow color in the glass with above average viscosity. Nose is pure Pfalz: lychee, guava, lemon peel, but evolving into caramel and a touch of smoke, again, opening a window on its evolution. Like all B-W wines (at any price point) I found a superb level of acidity, just about right - not sure how they do it. Finish lingered wonderfully but also hinted of what was to come given petrol scents haven’t even kicked in yet. Might be 95+ in a few years, my delineation between great and elite wine.
