85 Points

Wednesday, February 26, 2014 - Straight out of decanter after pouring:
Red center, pale red rim with clear signs of age.
Sweet cherries, some citrus, a little roasted apple,
Smooth, signs of age, citrus and raspberries, a little wood, supporting acidity, alcohol, good length.
An improvement from last tasting several years ago, lost the overpowering licorice taste, clearly aging and drinking well now, no need to wait.

2nd day: A little less convincing. Really quite pale. Nose is muted with faint lighter red fruits and some brandy. Good in the mouth at first with cherry jam and good sweetness, followed by some astringency and a slightly hot but also musty finish. Has that strong licorice at the very end. Still pleasant but downgraded to 85.
