Sunday, June 25, 2023 - Another year of development and it showed good red and black fruits and some spice on the nose, as before. Juicy acidity and tannins meant that it was good with food. Afterwards, not so good; the acidity and tannin seemed too prominent and gave the palate a slightly ‘hard’ edge.
Note. After 24h+ the dark damson fruit was more forward and the acid/tannin softer and better balanced. I have raised my score by a point.
We tasted another bottle in late September 2023 and, given 2-3 hours to open and soften a little, it was excellent both with food and, later, on its own. Half a bottle was at least as good next day. This wine has legs. 89+
