Monday, October 29, 2012 - A straightforward CdP from an undistinguished year that rises above average with good texture and mouthfeel. Nose is rather mute at this stage, with light hints of anise, red fruit and a bit of heat. Savory flavors dominate, with light fruit backed by some meat and herbs. Nicely rounded mouthfeel with keen acidity and matching, lightly dusty tannins. Moderate but unintense finish. Might improve with age, but a suspect you will trade off liveliness for only moderate gains in secondary characteristics.
