2018 Aphros Vinhão

Community Tasting Note

Likes this wine:

Sunday, December 20, 2020 - Deep ruby, impenetrable. High acidity gives a mouthwatering wine but not a sour/acidic wine. Tannins are perfectly balanced with the intensity of the fruit. Fresh with prickly sensation on the palate. Vinous with balance between red fruit character and freshness. Sour cherry, raspberry and fresh herbs dominate the nose while the palate offers hints of crushed wild berries and menthol. Honest & gastronomic.

Set in Portugal’s Vinho Verde region, the estate specialises in biodynamic winemaking. Fermentation with maceration of the skins and pip in granite / tanks at temperatures between 20 and 22º C. Foot treading / Pressing / Malolatic Fermentation in inox vats / Aging “sur lies”/ Filtration /
