Saturday, November 8, 2014 - Tawny brown color. Ripe nose of raisins, walnuts, celery, caramel, alcohol, and VA. The palate is not as ripe as the nose with raisins, walnuts, campfire, caramel, toffee, and buttered popcorn exploding on the tongue. The hallmark acidity makes this lively on the palate and gives some real character while hiding the 19.2% alcohol. The long finish is packed with caramel and buttered popcorn, some might call out pralines. Overall, I really enjoyed this as a off-dry aperitif because it has lovely flavor with terrific acidity which makes the entire package both fascinating and enjoyable.
