Wednesday, February 28, 2018 - Dinner at Sun Wah (Chicago, IL): From magnum. The oak spice on this is still showing too prominently for my palate. It persists from the nose to the finish, and the tannins that are still here seem to be derived from oak. The fruit profile here is quite nice, with some crunchy red fruit and a ripeness that definitely feels more new world than old. To my palate, this could probably be aged a little more, to perhaps round out the rough edges a little more.
