Thursday, January 14, 2021 - I hate it when you open a bottle of wine, take a few sips, and realize you're not in the mood for this. That happened to me with this wine. It seemed like too much plump fruit, not enough structure or definition, no acid to speak of, blah blah. I wanted what this wine was not delivering.

Then of course, a couple of nights later, drinking it while on a Zoom call, I had the opposite opinion. It tasted delicious. I loved the full, rounded fruit. I didn't care that it didn't have much of an acid zing. I didn't want that. I imagined sitting in the middle of a vineyard in Burgundy drinking this lovely wine with a picnic.

I agree about the leesy taste. It doesn't taste like Chardonnay. It's that magical Chablis.

Unfortunately, the bottle was drained so that last glass was it. Thus, my closing memory of this bottle is that I want more. It feeds fantasy.
