Sunday, October 10, 2021 - Ruby red with purple core. Aromas flow from the glass. Black cherry, black pepper, dark berries and a bit candied with maybe an element of stewed slightly jammy plums. Some coffee bean, vanilla. Flavours follow aromas but add in some cassis and a slight tartness/tanginess to the fruit element. Nicely balanced structure, maybe a bit stronger on the acidity at this point. Chalky slightly chewy tannins. Longish finish. Fruit is still primary. Sweetness to the fruit mouthfeel. Medium weight. Definitely room to grow and improve over time. Still young.
Better on day 2 ...
