Thursday, February 13, 2020 - Burgundy, Day 3 (Beaune, France): Barrel sample. What a wine. This has always been my favourite of the grands crus in the lineup and for me today, this was no exception. This is a hypothetical mix of the Echezeaux and Ruchottes -- massive scale, earth, spice, black fruit, sweetness, balance, the whole shebang. A complete wine that will just need a lot of time to resolve everything, though honestly, it's pretty impressive already.
