Sunday, June 11, 2023 - [Double-decanted around 2pm.] Smells great on decanting, so I put it back in the bottle. I think I should have given it more air, because it was kinda shut down when we poured it around 7pm. The color was thin and brown, but as is typical of Giacosa, the wine blossomed after a half hour in the glass. Nose of forest floor, dried cherries, tar, and bark mulch. Lovely in the mouth, but still more mature than I expected given past bottles. I'll have to try another one soon.
