Friday, February 23, 2024 - Medium to dark ruby color. Ripe dark fruit coming through on the nose. Mostly black cherry and luxardo cherry. A bit of peppery spice and some purple floral notes as well. Similar flavors on the palate with a cherry cough drop flavor profile. Lots of ripe cherry fruit, almost cherry jam. Medium acidity and tannin and body. 2018 was a somewhat riper vintage and that definitely shows in this wine. This is one of the rare occasions that a cru bojo was better on its own than with food. So much ripe fruit coming through that it didn't pair well with dinner. Very nice wine though.
