Does not like this wine:

83 Points

Wednesday, January 31, 2024 - garnet colour and medium body. the nose is initially dominated by a green parsley note that takes time to blow off… and then is mainly dark cherry, cranberry and pine needles. very tart in the mouth from entry to finish, the acidic cherry and cranberry fruit notes gain a bit of depth from subtle earthiness and minerality, but complexity is low overall. moderate length.

this wine is the antithesis of the stereotype fruit bomb Pinot… but is no better in that the tartness and acidity are off-balance and there is little complexity. and so, it's a disappointing experience from a producer with whom i've generally had good success (including other vintages from this same vineyard).

14.3% AbV; curious as when this wine was bottled, as the cork is perfectly white with no signs of the expected ~8 years bottle age.
