Monday, September 7, 2009 - Decanted for 2 hours, consumed over the next hour. Vanilla and oak on the nose with some hints of blackberry and a whiff of cherry, but predominantly a typical california oak and vanilla nose. In the mouth the tannin are bone dry with a lot of dark jammy fruit. Very very TIGHT wine that seems a bit out of wack right now. It should be better in about a year and should be "special" in another 3+ years, but right now I don't think it's worth opening. 91 now, capable of 94+ with some time, IMO.
