Tuesday, December 13, 2011 - Decanted 1 hour. Lots of blackcurrant on the nose. Quite smooth in the mouth with nice acidity and plenty of tart red and black fuits with blackcurrant and plum at the forefront. Some notes of coffee, leather and earth but overall this still seems quite primary with the fruit in the ascendancy. The fruit intensity persists nicely leading to a 30 second finish with some grippy tannins still in evidence. The tartness of the fruit and acidity made this refreshingly different from a lot of Napa cabs out there in this price range and this wine represents decents value at arounf $45. Should drink very well for quite some time.
