93 Points

Sunday, February 26, 2012 - The 2006 is starting to reach the proper drinking point. I recall the first bottle (2 years ago) being tight, dark and in need of some cellar time. This go around the fruit was ripe, dark and well integrated with the cigar box, tar and smokey compoenents. The finish was long and enjoyable and overall the wine married well with prime filets on the grill. This wine is showing why it garnered such praise and high marks. I expect this wine will continue to improve in the cellar and has at least another 5+ years. Great effort that far exceeded the 2008 pritchard hill I tasted a few weeks back.
