Sunday, December 24, 2017 - Decanted at about 4pm and enjoyed from 7-9 pm, best at the end of the span . Lovely, bright, translucent medium garnet color with little sign of age on the rim. Slightly smokey nose with red fruit, lavender, cedar and anise. Tannin almost fully integrated but still detectable. Mostly smooth and elegant mouthfeel. Balanced flavors in layers with plum, cherry, minerals, cedar, anise and light spice on the finish which lasted a good 45+ seconds. Sadly my last bottle of this....but fortunately several 2001 Sori San Lorenzo remain...
