Monday, July 10, 2017 - Easily one of my favorite wines. Fruit/spice/earth/age/softness and still some grip. I thought this wine was lost, but at 13 years old, it's still beautifully vibrant and complex with years still left to evolve. Nose has plum, baking spice, toffee, earth, smoke, and black licorice. Palate is grippy but still black fruit-driven. There is a soft, buttery texture under the tannins that doesn't quite make it to bacon fat but stays edgy. Finish is bright, sweet, and long. This is an amazingly good wine. I'm in love!
