Wednesday, February 7, 2024 - This was a wonderful positive surprise vs expectations for the vintage (I really do not love 18 red burgs from previous experiences). This wine was accesssible - in fact it was wide open to my surprise, soft (!) even and measured (drank like the 13.5 pct alcohol it had on the label). I would say that compared to a 19 CSJ had a year prior a case in point where I prefer the 18 version at this early juncture as it's less alcoholic and mighty. The wine developed beautifully in the glass and we savoured it over dinner with the last glass being the best.
