Wednesday, October 4, 2023 - Quick decant. Nose shows red raspberry, cherry candy, and a light smoked meat aroma. Palate delivers a mix of bright red berry fruit and Westphalian ham, with both lively acidity and a stony quartz underbelly. Pepper and fresh herbs kick in on the finish, the acidity hits a quick piercing high point, and then the wine settles down into granite tannins, cherry fruit, and river rocks. A nice package that's good now and will certainly last another 7-10 years given the acidity.
