Sunday, July 17, 2011 - Great nose, with a very dark character. Smokey, with roasted coffee and black currants. Dark fruit on the palate, with mostly integrated tannins and round mouth coating feel. Showing black currants, plum, blackberry, and just a wisp of green pepper spice. Lengthy finish of scorched earth, espresso, leather, and black fruit. Lovely cab, with a distinctly darker fruit profile than typical of Napa and the clearest representation of fresh roasted coffee I've ever gotten in a wine. In a great place right now, though certainly won't fade anytime soon. Little if any maturity of the fruit flavors.
