Tuesday, March 5, 2024 - Wow! From a mag signed by Ben, this wine is singing! Medium garnet in the glass with a well-defined clear meniscus. The nose is all about ripe black fruit, spice, herb, and - a touch of coffee! On the palate this is so smooth and balanced, it wants you to take another sip, especially when paired with food (ok, not a Tomahawk ribeye but a Papa Murphy's thin crust pizza - yum). There is a bit of oak and tannins on the finish, so could have waited. Ben's wines are so good when aged. This bottle was exceptional tonight.
