92 Points

Sunday, October 17, 2004 - Black/maroon, with slight amber at the rim. This is a big step up from the 1999, which had a huge nose but little follow-through on the palate. Deep, rich nose of cedar, leather, and juniper, with a complex palate of cocoa, tea, blueberries, and black cherries. Well-structured -- the fruit, tannins, and acid are in harmony, and the tannins are mature but not fully resolved. This wine seems to be peaking now -- I would not wait more than another year or two.
