90 Points

Monday, August 20, 2007 - Light colored and juicy, with mouthwatering strawberry and watermelon notes having a tang reminiscent of Jolly Rancher candy. The usual notes of toffee and spice are there, too, but those are pretty generic and simple. The bright acidity helps counteract the alcohol -- which seems a bit steeper than the asserted 14.1% -- so the wine is more or less balanced, if a little sharp around the edges. Bottom-line impression: it's pretty tasty stuff, and a decent buy at the mid-$30s price point.
