Wednesday, August 4, 2021 - 2019 Casa Vinicola Botter Gran Passione Rosso (Veneto)
This Merlot/Corvina blend from Amarone country has a lovely plum, cherry, and cedar aroma. The taste is full on jammy cherry with vanilla tones. Round, full-bodied, almost sweet with substantial length although a midsection that’s somewhat flabby (Fun fact: my partner has described me with these exact words!). The long finish features soft tannins but firm alcohol (14%). A bargain bottle that would competently complement most barbecued beasts.
