Friday, August 30, 2013 - This is a great Shiraz that makes you think of Grange (really). Nearly black in the glass with strong legs, nose of tea, cherries and blackberry, BIG on the palate and as smooth as silk. Not too complex but nice structure. At $65/btl I paid this is an amazing wine when you consider that the new Grange (2008) was released at $850. This is very enjoyable now but another year or two or five would do no harm. All the Penfolds wines I have experienced, from bottom to top have aged gracefully. They seem to get better every year.

If you like Shiraz you will like this wine. Be sure to decant as there was a fair amount of sediment in this bottle.
