Sunday, November 25, 2012 - Wow, what a difference 1.5 years made on this wine. The oak has compeltely gone into the background and the fruit is coming out like gangbusters. The wine improves with every minute in the glass. It started out very fruit forward with powerful blackberry nose and palatel. After 1 hour it now is dominated by anise, licorise, and hints of menthol. The fruitiness has subsided, but the fruit is still coming through loud and clear. The nuance and balance of this wine is outstanding. This finish is long and satisfying. If you got any of this one left, now is the time to drink it up, but give it a chance to open/develop for an hour or 2. It just changed again with all the spiciness receding and cherries coming forth. Tally hoe!
