Friday, March 25, 2022 - Nose is extremely ripe and rich with chambord, framboise, dried currants, menthol, leather marjoram, dark cacao chocolate & crushed Syrian black pepper.
Flavors are similar but in a leaner, less expressive version in a medium body and firmly acidic tone, decent mouthfeel, with soften tannins. Finish is a bit short with bitter cacao and Valencia orange peal. As an everyday wine at 15% Alc it’s fine and satisfying at the price point. Short ribs or Spanish oxtails would serve it well. It’s like being on a date and moderately impressed when the clothes come off. Decanted and aerated for 3 hours. Nice to experience some wines from this mysterious region.
