Wednesday, December 17, 2014 - Pristine bottle, perfect level, label and cork. Medium depth of colour, sombre red hue, browning at the edges; good depth on the nose, quite evolved, aromas of earth, leather and liquorice, sweet raspberry top note; the palate is solid and sturdy rather than refined at the moment, relatively slender, with firm and slightly drying tannins but also a decent core of black cherry fruit; light finish but good length, dried fruit seems to indicate maturity. An old-fashioned Saint-Emilion, should soften with a few more years of age, but I doubt that it will develop much further.
