Friday, June 25, 2021 - Maybe it's too young, but for me this vintage is very far inferior to earlier years (I've tried the 2012, 2015, 2016 over the last couple of years).

Splash decanted and drank over the next hour. For me this is just a hot, confected, jammy and simple wine. It is utterly unbalanced - just heat and fruit, no acidity or tannins. Blind I would label it as $6-8 Californian plonk.

Perhaps it will get better with a few more years of age, but as it stands I'm really not impressed. At ~US$17.5 this is not a repeat buy.

EDIT: I left a glass in the decanter overnight. 21 hours from opening it's a little better, but still really nothing special - still jammy, no tannins. Maybe an 84 now.
