Sunday, November 15, 2020 - After this seasons final pressing, it was time for a celebratory wine.

Shy nose. Even after a little decanting. Inky and dark in color. Cassis and fruit on the palate, but still in a young wine way. The tannins are tight, puckering and stemmy in note, like the bottom of a teapot. This feels vineyard, and not winemakery, free of manipulation. The term old world is a bit overused, but this is as close as you can come in California, I think. If I can summarize it I would use the old english proverb - "still waters run deep"; it's in many ways a little sleight-of-hand and shy, but has tons going on beneath. Which makes it so interesting. You keep discovering things constantly. Great wine.
