Thursday, July 20, 2023 - Concentrated, elegant, opulent. Highly aromatic. Black currants, dark chocolate. Fine, elegant tannins. Medium acidity. Long finish. Great Pomerol.

Comparing it to it's little brother 2020 Manoir de Gay, which is also fantastic. Manoir is a little more peppery, a touch less elegant and concentrated. But it's right there. I'm going to really enjoy the big brother, but for daily sipping, I'll be extremely happy with the 2018 or 2020 Manoir de Gay.

UPDATE (12/9/2023)
Doing a tasting of 2015 Chateau Clinet, 2018 Chateau Nenin, 2019 Chateau Le Gay, and 2018 Manoir de Gay. Chateau Le Gay might be my favorite...with the Manoir de Gay outperforming and definitely better than Nenin. Clinet is very nice...I'd have to explore it more.

My original tasting notes hold up. It's highly fragrant and aromatic. Concentrated, opulent, fine tannins, perfectly judged acidity, and long finish. Delicious.
