Saturday, May 3, 2014 - Had over the course of a 2 hour 85th bday dinner for MWP at Bacchus Brooklyn. Pretty reticent on the nose at the outset, but blossomed with air. Iron, red currant and leather emerged over time both on the nose and in the palette. Super smooth with fully resolved tannins and a deep earthiness I associate with mature Bordeaux. Has a few years life left I would guess but is definitely nearing the end of its prime window. Lovely and memorable.
