Perhaps it’s oak, but it’s not so evident on the palate, which has low/medium dusty tannins and medium acidity. It’s got spicy aspects too, with an even presence on the palate although it’s overall fairly simple and not especially concentrated. Light weight overall, although there is a sweet spicy persistence which beguiles a bit. For the price (around $20ish) you couldn’t complain. Don’t leave it too long in a cellar, because I don’t think it’s really got the stuffing to age for very long.
