90 Points

Wednesday, May 1, 2013 - This wine is not a pop and pour. First sip it is very very thin. Pop it in a decanter for 60 minutes and a totally different wine arrives in the glass. The tannins are well integrated and the wine has some silkiness to it. You taste a mix of oak, vanilla, dark currant and a touch of tobacco. I have 2 bottles left and I am going to hold off on consuming b/c they will only get better. I am still drinking the '98 and '00 Sterling Reserve C/S, and they are both quite good as well.
