Sunday, March 31, 2024 - This is a deep purple colored wine. It's flavors are varietal with backberry, black cherry, pepper, and menthol. There's also some gamey elements on the finish. The body is full and the consistency is rich. The tannins are chalky with a bit of astringency on the finish. This wine is more like a Northern Rhone than a jammy California Syrah being that the acidity far outweighs the sweetness. This is not an inexpensive wine, but it's a good deal compared to the top Northern Rhone Syrahs.
