It was supposed to go with the meal, but was so good on it's own, we nearly finsihed the bottle before the food was out of the oven. The last glass went with the dinner and it was terrific. The color is waning, but lovely hints of cherry and spice, and light oak combined on the nose and the palate, with good acidity and a decent finish. I liked this bottle and was impressed that it was still so palatable after 9 years. Don't wait to drink the rest, consume asap!
