For some reason this producers 06’s Kabinett and Spatlese have an unusually deep yellow color. They showed this upon release and while not a fault, I find it an interesting curiosity. Others have written about flawed corks but, I do not believe that’s the case. Fine tartaric crystals on cork and neck of bottle. Nose shows a kaleidoscope of yellow stone fruits, dried apricot jumps out, orange oil, Verbena and lemon. Also scents of Tokaji Aszu adding to its complexity. Big for a spatlese, good concentration, dried apricot, dried longan fruit, and hints of citrus preserves. Fine underlying beam of acidity provides a mouthwatering tangy golden fruit finish. Interestingly, Not a typical Mosel Riesling. Complex and delicious none the less. Purchased as direct import, stored accordingly and enjoyed 40-55 without food. Drink now – 8 years… Na zdrowie
