Saturday, August 22, 2009 - The previous bottle must have been a little off or somewhat oxidized, because this one was much better. The cork and the fill were perfect. Some appropriate bricking was obvious at first glance. Though not lacking in dark fruit (blackberry, plum), oak and cedar aromas and flavors were really the focus of this bottle. More so, maybe, than I would ultimately prefer. A toasty edge and tobacco hints provided some welcome complexity. I take back what I said about this wine not being worth the price.
