Monday, December 3, 2018 - Thirteen years on and still a vibrant wine. Bright red in color with almost no fading at the edges. A lovely spicy nose. Rich, deep fruit, round and sweet. Blackberries and blueberries, just a hint of cherries and spice. Soft tannins, but still providing lots of structure, nice acidity. Just a beautifully balanced wine at this point in its life. The finish lingers with echoes of dark fruits. I can't imagine this wine drinking any better, but it has years of life ahead of it. This is why we age wines. Superb. Alas, my last bottle -- I wish I had more.
