Wednesday, February 7, 2024 - Wednesday Nebbiolos (Gino's, Portland OR): So, we had ordered the 06 of this and they gave us the 16 instead (thankfully they charged us the right amount). Funny how a minor accident can lead to something so beautiful. There is a real lush quality to the fruit along with the nose showing off a lot of perfume and nuance to the tones of tart red cherries, licorice, raspberries, crushed rocks, violets, wild flowers, purple fruits, bright red fruits, red berries, and sweet tobacco notes. The Full bodied feel is vibrant and balanced with tart, high acidity and silky, high tannins. The structure is youthful, but it hasn't gone into a shut down stage and it isn't too overbearing. This is still clearly young, but it's also really friggin good. This is a straight up sexy Barbaresco that will age gracefully for many many years.
