Thursday, May 24, 2012 - Red fading to orange, with a clear rim. A rather austere nose, like an empty oak barrell, with notes of orange and raspberry. Strong and complex on the palate, with pomelo, raspberry, apple, cherry and blueberry. Cleansing acid on the finish. I had a hard deciding whether I preferred this to the Montestefano (nobody else did; I think everyone else at the table much preferred the Rio Sordo to the Montestefano).
