Thursday, February 15, 2024 - Enjoyable wine.
Compared to the 2018 Pommard Clones (Papapietro) I drank the night before, I thought this Leras wasn't as balanced and a little too strong with cherry/cola flavors. With that said, I bought a case of 2018 Leras on sale for $36/bottle so, for the cost, I am happy.

Appearance of wine was med garnet, showing signs of bottle age.
Developing wine with med aromas of cherry, strawberry, cola, cedar, earth, baking spices, and kirsch.
Dry wine, med- tannins, high acidity, high alcohol, med body, med+ flavor intensity, med+ finish. Very good wine. Can drink now but suitable for further aging.

I'm curious how much longer these 2018 bottles can age with the acidity and alcohol both still high as well as plenty of primary fruit flavors still present.
