Thursday, November 13, 2014 - Popped and followed over the course of the evening. Not much change after about an hour open to smooth things out. Cork in great shape.
Color still has a young, bright ruby core but garnet playing at the edge. About 70% saturated with thin, clear legs. Very minor sediment in the bottle.
Mature notes in the bouquet but it is losing a lot of punch. It seems I caught this on the way up in 2007 and now on the way down in 2014. Gentle and silky palate with luscious acidity, a big saline push, and really nice evidence of the beautiful fruit that used to be in plentiful supply. This is still very nice, but it will not get any more attractive than it is now, or was a year or two ago. It delivered the Burg experience I was hoping for, so no real complaints. 5+12+16+6=89
