Friday, March 31, 2017 - My first bottle in almost two years. Dark ruby color, showing some transparency and youth. The nose is concentrated and dynamic as ever, with first impressions of oak and vanilla followed by nuanced cherry fruit, berry compote, fresh spring rain, with hints of pencil/lead and pine brush. Capturing the essence of classic Rioja. Palate is showing leanness and youth. Proto typical orange peel, Coriander, some spice, followed stringent cherry skin, hints of iron and more lead pipe. Tertiary aromas of wet stones and ash.
A powerhouse and possibly the perfect representation of Rioja. 93 plus.
