Does not like this wine:

Tuesday, October 24, 2023 - Barbera is in my top 10 grapes for wine, but this one doesn’t hit it for me.
I keep asking myself why. My palate says it’s not natural and has been manipulated. Tastes of chemicals and tastes off. Does not taste real to what wine can bring. Maybe this just needs time.

Upon initial decant, the nose was of tart meats. As more air got put to it there were acetyl smells. There were some burnt notes of charr, dusts and some very black earth smells.

On the palate was an astringent quality with nothing lush, but black fruit and black earth. I think this just needs time.

Paid $30.
I overpaid based on what I taste now.
I really don’t like it.
Maybe I’ve been spoiled with Bartolo Mascarello, and Burlotto.
