Saturday, September 1, 2012 - Well a lot different than last time we tried it. We decanted it ( a must at the moment) and observed it over 2 hours.
The first impression was of a warm climate with a lot of oak and feel of that lactic angle of dry oak tannin. Andreas tried it blind and thought it was from South Africa.
Gone is the fruit of its youth (rated it 93 2 years ago) and the wine is a bit on the shut side to begin, with a dominant oak feel and a sweet core on the finish. It did relax as time went by but left a harsh extracted over oaked feeling. Overdone new age Spain at the moment and we would suggest one waits another 5 years before approaching. 88-90 at best at the moment from us.
