Wednesday, January 4, 2023 - Bottle five of this and I have been blessed with another absolutely excellent showing. Smelt amazing when poured, but I decanted for 45 minutes and enjoyed its development over another couple of hours.

Rusty ruby colour. Lovely nose red currant, raspberry, strawberry, liquorice, some distinct "aged claret" notes of earth and mature wood.

Palate remarkably young, with hints of sweet red fruit remaining: dried strawberry, cherry. Balanced by a more mature earth, touch of iron. Oak, touch of vanilla and pine/wood from pencil shavings.

Opened up to reveal a lovely oak and tobacco profile with a hint of mocha also. Leather and sweet pepper also present.

This was concentrated and with a long finish showing off the many complex layers of notes. I'd say this had literally perfect balance and acidity; great structure to the wine still and it will keep going.

This was the most "Bordeaux first growth like" of the five bottles I've had so far... a certain very distinct mature claret tertiary note present moreso than before. Lovely!

This was so good. Debating in my head if it should be 97 or 98 points. I might change a few times.
